Paulo Bruscky

Paulo Bruscky (1949) is a Brazilian Fluxus artist active in international mail art and Fluxus events since the 1960s. He worked early on with new media technologies such as the Xerox printing press, photography and video, and documentary artist books. In terms of content, he dealt with socio-cultural events and everyday happenings, the reality of life for people in his native Recife.

Growing up in the times of the Brazilian military dictatorship, he experienced the suppression of all suversive approaches in social action, but he always kept the approach that art could contribute to social and political change. He has been considered one of Brazil's leading avant-gardists since the 1970s.
