Dennis Cooper

Dennis Cooper (*1953) is a U.S. writer and poet who drew much of his inspiration from the punk and homosexual scenes, in which he was at times intensely active. He studied literature at Pasadena City College and Pitzer College, and later moved to New York City, Amsterdam and Los Angeles, where he worked as a writer for art magazines and was active as a writer, performance artist and publisher. As his most famous work gives the George Miles Cycle, whose realization he began at the age of 15 and took about 20 years. Since 2005 he has lived in Paris, where he continues to work as a writer, also writing plays and running a blog.
