The compilation, La Nuit des Solos, was produced as part of the fourth edition of the Musique Action Internationale festival, which took place on the 22nd of May 1987 in Vandoeuvre, Nancy. The record collects short improvisations and interventions by renowned solo artists and musicians of various musical genres who performed at the festival. Thus, between classical guitar and electronic noise, an extreme range of expressions of music history can be heard.

David Moss is represented on the record with two pieces, the first of which can be heard here.

Moss's vocals and speech are particularly distinguished by his voice, which extends over four and a half octaves and allows for extraordinary pitch variance. His voice, multiplied by a repeater, is accompanied by steel drums, played by Moss himself.
