In the 1970s, the Italian artist Marcello Jori developed an artistic concept in which he returned outstanding works by painters, musicians and poets to their sources of inspiration in nature. Bedřich Smetana's masterpiece Moldau seemed to him an excellent source material, and he planned to move this musical work dedicated to the river to the place where the first inspirations and conceptions of Smetana's work may have been born. Jori travelled from the source of the Moldau along the river's course to Prague and played the piece of music at specific points along the river. At the same time, he made recordings of the sounds of the flowing water, which Jori mixed with Smetana's music, thus also acoustically connecting the Moldau and the Moldau. He created a record from this and added 30 documentary photographs of the journey and the performances.
