The 60th action by the Viennese action artists and representatives of Viennese Actionism Hermann Nitsch took place on the 21st of April 1978 in the Petersen Gallery in an empty factory building in Berlin. It lasted three hours; the recording to be heard here is an approximately 20-minute excerpt of the music from the action. It was performed by the Berlin punk band PVC, which had only been founded the year before and is considered one of the first punk bands in Germany. Knut Schaller (bass, vocals), Raymond Ebert (guitar, vocals), Gerrit Meijer (guitar/vocals) and Jürgen Dobroczek (drums) performed. They describe the music of the action as a "noise orgy".

Hermann Nitsch aims to create intense sensual experiences with his actions. He often accomplishes this through massive violations of social conventions and habits: through noise and loudness, through the use of animal carcasses and blood, as well as religious and mystical rituals. Thus triggering much criticism, but also encouragement.
