Jeremy Adler's piece Alphabox is a work of sound poetry. Without formulating intelligible words, Adler creates a sound construct between poetry and music exclusively with his voice. The chant-like voice with many tonal changes is supplemented by sibilant and breathy sounds, which, however, due to his soloist performance, only sound in succession, never overlapping.

Alphabox is not only the title of this work, but also Adler's publishing project, in which he publishes the estates of his father H.G. Adler and Franz Baermann Steiner, among others.
