Since the end of the 1960s, Albrecht d. has been occupied with music, which he initially entitled "Dilletantism". He built most of his string and percussion instruments himself, which grew considerably in size over the years.

Albrecht developed the concept of Endless Music between 1973 and 1980, based on tones that were so deep and had such low frequency that they could be felt rather than heard. To implement the concept, which is based on Buddhist ideas, he relies on improvisation, circular repetition, and Asian musical traditions. The aim was to bring out the natural sound of the instruments; not to reproduce compositions and scores.

One of the best-known releases in this series was the work endless Music goes ZEN, which was commissioned by Radio Bremen in 1978 for the Pro Musica Nova festival. Albrecht performed the concept variously, mainly in Germany but also in nearby European countries.
