The early musical style of the Slovenian band Laibach is oriented towards post-punk and post-
industrial, but also has many influences from other genres such as classical music, hip hop, heavy
metal, disco and techno. Furthermore, folkloristic elements are included and interpreted.

The tracks on the album Nova Akropola, released in 1986, including Krvava Gruda - Plodna Zemlja
(Bloody Gruda - A Fertile Land), which can be heard here, begin to move away from industrial and
avant-garde and already reveal the style of "militant classicism" for which Laibach became known for in later years. Bass, drums, recording equipment for samples and electronic instruments, among other
things, are used. The inspiration for the industrial-looking pieces on the album came from the mining
region around Trbovlje, the home town of the founding members of Laibach.
